This business was formed by Cindy Scott on October 1st, 2001, with only $100 and 1986 Ford Ranger

Cindy was employed as a sales person for Evergreen Steel when the sales dropped after the 9/11 tragedy causing the business to close. She had just returned for the Oregon State Employment Department, feeling depressed about not being able to find any job openings for which she qualified, knowing she had to provide for her children.

There were 3 messages on her answering machine: The first one was from a customer who had tracked her using the local telephone book to inform her he wanted to still deal with her. The second one was from another customer from a previous employment stating the same. The third was from a new customer telling Cindy to quit feeling sorry for herself and figure out how to get the material needed within 2 hours.

Cindy grabbed onto the challenge! With a quick call she was able to locate the material and personally get it delivered on her truck within 1 1/2 hours. After that day, she really didn't have a choice but to proceed down that charted path.

Cindy was able to find an inexpensive lumber rack, She had it modified to fit the Ranger, which gave the capacity to haul 20' long material. She was given a 4 x 5 utility trailer which she had modified into a 4 x 10 flat trailer to haul plate. Nine months later she was offered a 3/4 pickup with a rack for the trade of her personal Suburban, plus offered a 16' car hauler trailer for $500.00. It didn't take very long for this trade to happen. This setup worked until April 2004 when the business was big enough to need to get a bigger truck. This time it was a F7000 (2 ton) 18' Flat Bed. This vehicle was also modified to be able to haul 40', She had been hauling 40' long material on her pickup.

In Cindy's words "What I am is a Full Service Metal Supplier. All types of alloys and items. I do whatever it takes to get the job done"

Here is an example of what her company policy is.
In June 2005 she went to Seattle to pickup Aluminum for the Sea Lions Gate job at Bonneville Dam.Cindy left on Friday 5:30pm, after a full day of delivers, arrived back in Portland at 1:00am Saturday morning. Left again at 6:00am to make sure the material was at the job site by 7:00am when the workers arrived.

When a customer calls and needs material everything is done to be able to get it there at the time requested or needed, even up to 10:00pm, or as early as 6:00am, and Saturday's.
